Child Protection and Safeguarding

At CHIPS — Chișinău International Preschool, the safety, wellbeing, and dignity of every child are our highest priorities. We are committed to providing a safe, caring, inclusive, and respectful learning environment where children are protected from harm, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Our Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy is guided by the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe, to be listened to, to be treated with respect, and to have their individual language, culture, identity, and needs valued.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff receive regular child-protection training and follow clear procedures for recognising, recording, and reporting any concern. Our Child Protection Team oversees the implementation of these procedures, supports appropriate action when concerns arise, and works with families and relevant local services whenever needed.

We maintain safer recruitment practices, including background and reference checks, and ensure that all adults working with children understand their responsibility to protect and promote children’s welfare. We also help children develop age-appropriate personal-safety skills, confidence, and trusted support networks.

We work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that every child can learn, play, and grow in a secure and supportive community.
